BACKGROUND AND VISION

BACKGROUND AND VISION

DR. ALAN R. NIQUETTE has served local churches for more than twenty (20) years in full-time pastoral ministries, that emphasized expository preaching and teaching. Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (humanities) from Biola University, in La Mirada, Calif., a Master of Divinity degree from Talbot Theological Seminary, also in La Mirada, and the Doctor of Ministry degree from Western Seminary, in Portland, Ore. He has always based his ministry on the deep conviction that the Bible is the very Word of God, the final authority for all that Christians believe and do.

With this background, Alan has committed his life to the careful, accurate interpretation of God's Word, based upon sound principles of hermeneutics. He is further committed to a Bible teaching ministry that is clear and practical--that instructs young disciples, while enriching the lives of mature believers--a ministry that moves all ages toward an authentic, growing relationship with the true and living God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

ENTER: BETH (co-founder of DDM, Inc.). In the early 1980's, God brought Beth Gibson into Alan's life. The story of Beth's personal journey in the Lord radiates the glory of God's grace. Alan and Beth were married on May 14, 1983. From the beginning of their relationship, Beth recognized Alan's unique creative nature, and she encouraged him to explore the God-given gifts Alan had buried for many years (since his college days).

In December of 1988, Alan wrote his first biblical drama, a one-man play entitled "A Shepherd's Christmas." He performed the play twice on Christmas Day (Sunday, Dec. 25, 1988). As the Niquettes drove home, Alan said to Beth, "I'm never going to be the same. Something happened today--a level of communication I have never experienced before. Not like today!" Beth smiled and said, "I know." Since that moment, Beth (who is herself a Bible teacher, published writer, artist and cartoonist) has discovered her own unique performing gifts as an actress, concert soloist and conference speaker.

The Niquettes are convinced God has called them to use their combined gifts to serve local churches, by presenting creative programs that are Bible centered, appealing and life changing. Since the discovery of these unique gifts, many colleagues and friends have encouraged the Niquettes to write and produce a variety of biblical messages in a dramatic/musical format, and make them available to local churches. In the words of Pastor Tom Walker (Keiser, Ore.), "Now that you have discovered this gift, you can not not do it!" As a result, Dramatic Difference Ministries, Inc. was born on October 24, 1991, and has now become a full-time ministry, available to serve local churches in the western United States.

PURPOSE STATEMENT

DDM programs are filled with humor, and are quite entertaining...  But that is not our ultimate purpose. Our desire is to proclaim God's Word in a format that is clear, understandable, doctrinally sound, practical, memorable, and interesting--messages that change lives!

"The purpose of this corporation will be to research, develop and produce a variety of innovative programs designed to meet specific needs in local churches, including Bible conferences focusing on specific themes, training seminars and workshops, biblical messages presented in live dramatic and other creative formats; to help local pastors refine their own strategic vision; to encourage genuine spiritual maturity among believers; to promote an unwavering zeal for evangelism; and to conduct any other activity related to the creative exposition of God's Word and the strengthening of local church ministries."

From Article II of Bylaws, DDM, Inc.

Creativity and drama will never replace the systematic exposition of God's Word by faithful pastors in local churches. Our desire is to offer programs that will supplement and enrich the Bible teaching ministry of the local church. We are committed to excellence in both the content and public presentation of our programs, including stage setting, costuming, lighting, acting, music, and overall appeal. These programs are proving to be of interest both to regular church attenders and to the unchurched community. Our programs are designed to instruct and encourage God's people, while offering a gentle gospel appeal to the un-churched. And our promotional materials are attracting many visitors. Often church leaders observe a much higher attendance at our programs than anticipated.

DDM, Inc. is not limited to dramatic productions. We are committed to biblical teaching in a wide variety of creative formats, including pulpit preaching with mini-concerts, graphic arts (Beth's cartoons), and brief dramatic sketches. Given adequate lead-time, we are prepared to produce fresh material for specific occasions, dealing with selected themes. When we use the phrase "dramatic difference," it is not simply to focus on dramatic productions, but the fact that a personal relationship with God makes a dramatic difference in every aspect of life.

DDM is committed to careful, accurate biblical interpretation in the production of programs that are delightful (may we say "entertaining"?), memorable and life-changing. We are convinced it is not enough to know a lot of information and facts about God; it is vital to lead people into a deep, personal relationship with God, Who has revealed Himself in the person of Jesus Christ. Our programs are designed with the "Great Commission" (Matt. 28:19-20) in mind--to make disciples through...

EVANGELISM: To encourage people to believe in Jesus and openly identify with Him. [Baptize]

EDIFICATION: To encourage believers toward spiritual growth and a life of obedience. [Teach]

If we can be of service to you and your church in any way, or if you have any questions, please give us a call. WE'RE READY WHEN YOU ARE! Thank you for considering this material.
